Uncovering the Benefits of Early Time-Restricted Eating for Weight Loss and Cardiometabolic Health

Hey friend, have you heard about the latest research on time-restricted eating for weight loss? A recent study published in JAMA compared the effectiveness of early time-restricted eating (eTRE) versus eating over a period of 12 or more hours for weight loss, fat loss, and cardiometabolic health in adults with obesity.

The study found that eTRE was more effective for losing weight than eating over a 12-hour window, with a weight loss of 6.3 kg in the eTRE group compared to 4.0 kg in the control group. However, there was no significant difference in fat loss between the two groups. In a secondary analysis of completers, eTRE was found to be more effective for losing both weight and body fat.

While the results are promising, the study also noted that larger studies are needed to fully understand the effects of eTRE on fat loss. It's also important to note that all participants in the study received weight loss treatment, including energy restriction, in addition to being assigned to either the eTRE or control group.
