The LF-HP diet consisted of 29% fat and 34% protein, while the HF-SP diet consisted of 45% fat and 18% protein.

The results showed that both diet groups experienced significant weight loss, with the LF-HP group losing 9.7 kg and the HF-SP group losing 10.2 kg. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of fat loss or resting energy expenditure. However, the decrease in the thermic effect of feeding with weight loss was smaller in the LF-HP group compared to the HF-SP group. Additionally, both groups experienced improvements in glucose and insulin responses to test meals after weight loss, with no significant difference between the two diets.

Overall, the study found that both the LF-HP and HF-SP diets were effective at promoting weight loss and improving blood lipids, and neither diet had any detrimental effects on bone turnover or renal function.
